The scariest thing EVER!

I went to another haunted house last night. This one was called "Dr. Slaughter" and was located in Idaho Falls. It was put on by the Idaho Falls D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) so some of the kids in the program as well as the police officers and local teens were putting it on. My favorite part was when we were in the building, but still waiting in line, there was this little area where some of the actors would come out every 10 min or so and do a dance to Thriller. It was so funny and really good! If you've never seen monsters dance to Thriller, well my friends, you are missing out! This haunted house was MUCH better than the last one. It was longer, and much more intricate. Various famous movie monsters included the abominable snowman, the "ring girl," and the things from alien vs predator. My least favorite room was a room full of spider webs with massive spiders all over the walls. Then, as you rounded the corner, there was an even BIGGER spider under a table... and it JUMPED AT YOU!! Oh my gosh! That was actually the only thing that made me scream. I hate spiders so much! While the haunted house was fun, it wasn't the scariest thing i've done so far....
Last night after I got home, Cat and I decided to have a little adventure. I had gone to Walgreens earlier in the day and found some pink semi-permanent hair dye. I had never dyed my hair at all and Cat had only gotten high-lights so we both had butterflies the size of bats in our stomachs! The following slideshow is a nice picture documentary of our adventure!

THE FINAL RESULT!! (after being washed and styled this morning)

Officially a nerd...

I wore the molecular jewelry that Dad gave to me for my birthday. Luckily no one so far today has known what it is!
Thanks Dad!

World History... the biggest mistake ever (except for that whole physics fiasco!)

Yes ladies and gents, I have once again logged into blogspot to express my very negative feelings toward my World History professor. So, remember all that homework I had to do over the weekend? The two units (which took a class average of more like 3 hours each to complete) and reading the first six books of the Aeneid as well as studying for his nightmare of a test... Yeah, well when I got to class today I found out that the Aeneid did not in fact have to be read until NEXT Tuesday...the absent minded professor from hades (notice the usage of mythological language *wink, wink* maybe I am learning something from this class) forgot to include the useful bit of information called the DATE when he sent out the assignment. GRRR I am now sitting here angrily munching on my [fake] chinese from the Nordic while imagining what we could do to him that wouldn't be illegal...(juuust kidding) Anyway, luckily for most of the class only one other girl and I stayed up till all hours of the night trying to finish it, the rest found the task too daunting and abandoned all hope. I was tempted, but unfortunately I tried to be responsible!
The test was also terrible. Even though I've been stressing over it and studying every chance I got since wednesday night, the multiple choice section was RIDICULOUS! It had quotes from a reading we did several weeks ago and it asked us to identify who had said them. I figured that kind of thing wouldn't be on the test because I thought he was gong to test our KNOWLEDGE on the subject. Not our ability to memorize random picky details. I mean the people weren't even important to what we were studying! So, I missed like 10 multiple choice (although I think he said there were some problems with the answers so I may end up getting more credit) However, I wrote three AMAZING essays. Hopefully the total score will turn out ok!
I found this picture the other day in the random archives of pictures that I transfered from other computers. I miss my equine buddies!

BOO!

Friday night we went to the "Fear Factory" in Rigby which is kind of like a haunted house only it was in an old factory. It was so much fun! It wasn't really all that scary...except the guy who opened the door had a live snake around his neck which i wasn't too thrilled about. I didn't really appreciate it's creepy tongue flicking in my face. There were a couple of parts that were my favorite. First, one of the instructions were "If someone touches you, DO NOT HIT THEM, they won't hurt you." I got this great mental image of me punching someone in the face... But apparently it's happened before or they wouldn't have had to say that. The best part of the whole thing was probably watching my roommate, Cat freak out. We were walking by a "scarecrow" and I warned her that it would probably jump at us... which of course it did (right in front of her) She was so freaked out that she ran our friend Adam into a mirror and made me trip and fall over a hay bale. It was so funny, even the scarecrow giggled a little. I also liked making the people mad when their attempts to make me scream were unsuccessful. The only part I didn't like were the strobe lights. It was almost completely dark, but there were a couple of places with strobe lights. People with migrains shouldn't be allowed to be in the presents of strobe lights in the pitch black. They made me feel kinda sick and dizzy, but it was all good. Then we went and got milkshakes after. Like I said, we had SOOO much fun.

But the fun was not to last. I had to do my two 2hour units for World Foundations, as well as read the Aneid and study for a test... all for the same class. I also had all the homework for my other classes to do. As you may be able to tell from the picture, Greek epic poetry really isn't my cup of tea...

There are AMAZING sunsets here. I tried to take a picture last night, but of course it didn't come out as pretty as it actually was. Yesterday, I went to two football games again. Cory's team lost [again, poor kid] and Rachel's boyfriend's team lost as well, although it was a great game! It was really intense. I've never been so into football in my entire life, but it was so much fun! The BYU-I marching band was there and played during the game as well as a half time show. It was like a real football game. It was also nice to see a good match up. But then I had to go home and do crazy amounts of homework which was not so fun.

Homework, homework everywhere

(me reading for my Heroic Journey class)
So, as I was finishing up my Humanities Chronicle (and thus completing all my tasks that had been assigned) I check my email to find that my World Foundations professor (already my least favorite instructor as you might remember from previous posts) had [FINALLY] emailed us our assignment. I have to do two units (each taking about 2 hours to complete) read half of Virgil's Aneid, in addition to taking a KILLER test for him by monday... I freaked. Oh, and he didn't get around to posting the essay questions for said test until 12 last night. I'm really not pleased with this guy! So, last night I got together all the materials for the test, and once he finally posted the essay questions, i outlined half of them before crashing. I got up this morning 15 min before my religion class, threw on some jeans, t-shirt and my favorite MSU hoodie (yes, yes, i'm a traitor.. but my bestest friend ever gave me a super cute one!) converse, and ran out the door. Luckily World Foundations was canceled today (hence the insane workload) and so I took what I meant to be a one hour nap, which turned into about a two hour nap. I proceeded to shower and get ready for the rest of the day... completely forgetting that my second block class (the one that is saving me from losing my scholarships) started today. Luckily I had done the assignments and turned them in on blackboard so maybe the TA that is teaching the class will have some mercy on me... I feel like a complete idiot! Anyway, my new winter coat came today and I managed to snag it from the Head Resident's office when she was in there after her office hours. It's waaay cute! The pink color is ironically named "popsicle" which makes me laugh. It is quite warm too, and did quite nicely against the wind today. I'm very pleased! I have a debate meeting tonight were we are finishing up plans for the on campus debate tournament!

Law Fair

I forgot to tell you guys that I helped run the BYU-Idaho Inaugural Law Fair on Thursday. And might I say, I looked fabulous while I was doing it! I learned a lot of interesting things. Mainly that LSAT scores are super important (which I already knew) but I also learned about some things that I want/don't want in a law school. Several universities came to talk to potential students about their schools. I mainly just hung back and listened since I was a freshman, and wouldn't be applying for quite some time the admissions people wouldn't remember my name anyway. It was also good to learn what types of things to ask about when I do finally get to the point of seriously talking to admissions board members. I got to talk to a guy from the University of Idaho, and while he was a great guy, and fun to talk to, and I learned a lot, the University of Idaho isn't the right fit for me. One of the last places I went was to where Washburn University was set up. I really think I like that one! For one, the average LSAT scores and GPA are much more reasonable as well as the tuition! AND you can get instate tuition by living there for only six months! Sweet deal, yeah? Plus this school gives away tons more scholarship money to average people like me! I was impressed with the representative (an alum, not some stuck up guy from admissions) who had a lot of really good things to say about it. Only drawback is that Washburn is located in Topeka Kansas.... Oh well!

Slight Addiction...

And I took my trash out earlier this week, so these aren't all the bottles!
So I think I'm addicted... I feel like a little kid with a juice box b/c I have a bottle of juice in my purse at almost all times and I drink it with most every meal. I guess it's better for me than soda, right? And I'm getting a boat load of Vitamin C so maybe I'll stop getting sick. The pineapple peach mango is DEF the best... there is a half drained bottle sitting next to me at the moment actually...
Much love to everyone!

UGG(lies), sickness, ice cream, snow and football...

I never understood the concept of the "UGG" boot...especially when the sorority girls wear them with mini skirts....I mean seriously. My friends and I called them UGG(LY) and swore we would never own a pair. Well, now I understand. And am ashamed to say that I ordered a pair from Overstocks.com and embraced their warm wool-lined goodness with open arms! I am ashamed, but my toes are warm!! I ordered the chocolate brown version and they look (almost) cute with my sweaters.
Shortly after my UGGs arrived, I got sick... yes, it's sad. Thursday, I slept so much, which is so out of the ordinary for me, that my roommate thought I had died. She told me later she was tempted to poke me just to see if anything happened. Luckily she saw that I was breathing and didn't interrupt my much needed REM cycle. Long story short, on Friday I went from very sick to hyper in the course of about 2 hours (making my friends and roommates wonder about my mental stability)
After not being able to eat much for three days, i wanted ice cream! Insane, I know... So after dinner on friday Cat and I got ice cream and ate it in 38 degree windy weather. Right before this picture was taken Cat exclaimed: "Why are we eating ice cream?!? Oh yea, cuz it's good and YOU'RE AND IDIOT!!!" Sorry Cat... but It was fun! Later that night we went to Dairy Queen and got a blizzard! More ice cream! Yay! I'm so glad i can eat real food again!

This morning after I got out of the shower I heard screams...wondering what on earth was going on, i opened the blinds to see SNOW! Pouring down from the heavens in big beautiful flakes! Of COURSE all the girls from the southern states ran outside to take pictures for our friends back home... here are some samples of my photographic masterpieces...

So, I'd been promising my friend Cory that I'd go to one of his football games and he had one at 2 today and I absolutely promised him i would be there...not anticipating frozen water to be falling from the sky... buuuut because I am SUCH a nice person, I went. I LOVE my UGG boots after not only Cory's game, but I also stayed with my roommate, Rachel to watch her boyfriend, Josh's game. My toes were frozen, but I can't imagine how bad it would have been without that toasty wool-lined amazingness! So, just to describe my apparel... I was wearing my UGG boots, jeans, sweater, coat, scarf, flowered hat, and like 3 blankets between the two of us.... here's a lovely picture of Rachel and I freezing our little buns off ...by the look on the guy's face behind us apparently the ref had just made a bad call... that or he was just cold. Who knows? Anyway, Poor Cory's team lost :( but Josh's team won, so... yay! haha After we went to Josh's house and made pizzas Yum! Then I went to Cory's house as I end up doing almost every weekend because we're both social rejects. As he was walking me home (like a total gentleman not wanting me to get attacked walking across campus at almost midnight) it snowed... and then snowed harder! Oh my gosh I couldn't see! He made fun of me the entire way but then made a snowball and let me throw it at him (breaking a city ordinance...oops? but ya gotta have some fun, right?) When I got back to my apartment snow was EVERY WHERE! ...on my pants, boots, in my hair, on my hat and scarf, even in my eyelashes... I tried to take a pict but it didn't come out very well. And neither did the picture I tried to take of the snow actually accumulating on the grass, but here ya go...

So, it looks like you, the readers of my blog are now finally caught up on the crazy life of Emilie!

amazing...

So i went to the Cafe McKay again for lunch today! I'm kind of addicted to this sandwich called "the sky is falling" it's sooo yummy! It also helps that there is this way cute guy that works there sometimes... anyway I was really craving water, like real water. Not the nasty stuff that comes out of the tap that i generally have to flavor just to choke down. I wanted clear, non mineraly water, and LOTS of it. So, the biggest bottle they had was a brand called "FIJI" water... alledgidly from the islands of Fiji... i wasn't really buyin that but i just wanted water, so i picked up the bottle (which happened to be cool and kinda squarish, but most importantly, it was HUGE) and proceeded to order my sandwich.
This water is the most amazing water I've ever had... and i'm not generally picky about water unless it has some funny taste or has so many minerals it leaves gunk in the bottom of the cup (as does the water here) but i'm serious, this water changed my life! Ok, not really, but it's pretty darn good water!

One of FIJI's adds... i laughed.. but cool bottle, huh?
